Paper Product Labels & The Sticky Truth!
So, I went to take a shower this morning and reached for a Foaming Shower Scrub that I've been really excited to try because the scent is soooo peaceful and relaxing. It makes me feel like sipping a cup of tea in the cool morning air.
Here in Wisconsin there's a foggy morning air that I couldn't even begin to describe but have not found anywhere else that I have lived. I'd guess it has something to do with all the beautiful trees! If anyone knows of a Soap Maker who has captured this scent Oh please do let me know!
Anyway... As soon as I grabbed the jar I realized that I had unknowingly just begun a waterfall of inky paper and thick glue goo due to the paper label on the container. Now, I know it might sound shallow but for even my "Staple" favorites I really do care quite a bit about how a product looks. When I'm soaking in the tub or splashing around in the shower I want to open up something that Looks Clean, Feels Clean, Actually Makes me Clean, and takes me on a little trip of scent, texture, and Indulgence. If not, I just stop reaching for it... and I'm sure you've all had items you just don't reach for anymore. They end up in a box, on a swap board, given to a friend to try, or even tossed out.
Sometimes that paper label is just sooo cute though! Especially on an All Natural or Vegan product and I certainly can't blame any Shoppe for wanting thier items to look as clean and wholesome as part of the Earth... but that sticky residue on the jar and the icky papery mess stuck in my drain that sometimes ends up on my foot, I can't take it anymore!
So Anyway, I decided that from now on I'm going to stick some wide width clear tape over the label as soon as I pull it out of the shipping box! With a little extra effort I'm thinking my favorite Scrubs & Washes as well as lotions & sprays that might end up with an oily label can stay looking as adorable as they do on the sites from which they tend to originate. If you have any additional ideas or suggestions please let me know at mybluelynx@yahoo.com ! I'd love to know more about what other people are doing to solve this common problem.
