Not Sleeping With Etsy

Due to the warm humid weather I was not able to get more than a few winks last night so inbetween snoozes I spent my time exploring the wonders of Etsy. If you've never heard of Etsy... think a Pretty & Artistic Ebay without the darn fees! While I was exploring I came accross so many unique pcs that were so very inexpensive considering the fact that they are homemade that I felt I just had to spread the word. Here are some of the unique stores I found and made friends with :)

As someone who has a deep deep (way down deep in my tummy) appreciation for Foody Scented ANYTHING, I really thought these were adorable and very affordable most ranging at under $10. I really enjoyed looking through all of the different choices of foods. There are lots of sweet candies and desserts but there are also pea pods, hotdogs, The Breakfast Broach shown above, and many others! This seller does customs as well. Wonder if she can make me some lil cinny buns? I will have to find out!

Hmm... how much would my bitter sweet other half complain if i were to make another spurt of the moment at 3 am jewelry purchase and would it be worth the low grumbling noise he sometimes emits when he's annoyed? I prolly shouldn't, or this necklace might end up being my only company for a few days. These are a little more expensive but not by much. What I really like about these items is the natural and simple style. These are some very versatile pcs. that would go with a ton of different outfits and there are even matching earrings available as well. I really love this necklace entitled "Cocoa Flower" made w/cocoa shells, mother of pearl, and brown Czech. Very classy but also flirty and chic. What else would you expect from a store named Les Chic?

Now I figured out long ago that I love CP (Cold Process) Soaps. They're just so creamy, they lather so wonderfully, Ohhh how they Lather... but nevertheless I came across a really unique glycerin soap artist by the name of Twin Dreams Creations. Sooo many awesome soaps that are likely really wonderful to use but I don't think I'd want to spoil them! The Octopus really caught my eye... I certainly wouldn't want to take a shower with that! It would look so great in a nautical themed bathroom though wouldn't it? Maybe put a GI joe in it's grasps and plunge a miniature iron harpoon in the side of it's head! Then you can add some fake screaming and post it on YouTube. See, I have been inspired by an artist and I bet you will too if you take a quick peek.

Dark Chocolate and Coffee Scrubby bar. Omg, do I really need to say anything? You really must see the collection of Argyle, Neopolitan, Swirled, and Deliciously Scented Soaps in this shop. I'm so tempted by the Chocolate Peppermint Parfait but I'm wondering how one would keep ahold of it in the tub?

After yesterday's Post About Boutique Clothing A friend of mine demanded that I post a picture of the Vintage Pillowcase Dress I made myself. I am by no means sew-smart but I did manage to follow some rather simple instructions for making an old embroidered pillowcase into a pretty cute little dress for my daughter. I used bias tape for the armholes, satin ribbon for the ties, a few rossettes for decoration and I accented it with a pearl bracelet that I strung myself. If I ever make another one I'm thinking I will use Grossgrain instead of the Satin due to the fact that silky ribbon can get snags and pulls rather easily.
